How do I go about attending a workshop?
If you live in South Florida, we occasionally offer workshops open to the public. One Day Extreme Etiquette Workshops cover business & social skills, professional image and business dining. Our corporate and other professional programs are customized, scheduled and presented on the premises of your organization. Please see the Contact Us information at the bottom of the page and let us know when we can spend a few minutes discussing your company's needs.
Are your etiquette programs offered only in South Florida?
We travel nationwide and to other countries to present our etiquette, image, train-the-trainer and international protocol programs to companies and organizations.
What do I need to bring or buy when I attend the classes?
Course materials will be provided for all your workshops, so there is nothing extra you need to bring along or buy. Of course, you will receive a valuable experience and a personalized certificate of attendance.
Where do you conduct these workshops?
We bring the training to your place of business or other meeting facility. When conducting workshops open to the public, we offer them in hotels or private conference rooms.
Do you charge for the first time we talk?
No, our first telephone meeting and needs assessment is complimentary.
How much do your programs cost?
Because we offer a variety of workshops, please contact us to find out the fee for the one(s) you are interested in attending. For large groups or corporate rates, please also enquire with us.
What is your policy on payments?
Workshops need to be prepaid by check, money order, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express). International wire transfers are also accepted, and must be prepaid in US funds.

Do you do One-on-One Training?
Yes, for certification training only. Otherwise, we do group workshops for companies who wish to improve the business etiquette of their staff and management personnel.
Do you do training and certification for people who live in other countries?
Yes, we have trained etiquette image and international protocol consultants from all over the world! Most come to the USA for their training; other times we travel overseas to train when there is a group ready to become consultants.
Do you get requests from military spouses who wish to become consultants?
Yes. Becoming an etiquette consultant is a good fit for military spouses because they need to have portable career, as they move often.
Where do you do the training for military spouses?
We are able to do it on the military base or in hotels in the surrounding area or town where the base is located, as long as there is a minimum of participants. Military spouses are welcome to come to South Florida if time and budget allows it. We are happy to recommend hotels in our area.
I am interested in becoming an etiquette consultant. Who would be my target market when I get certified?
Depending on the certification(s) you choose, you may specialize in conducting etiquette workshops for children and teenagers; college students; small and large professional business groups; individual coaching; international protocol, and more. Many corporate trainers also train to be etiquette and image consultants to help conduct business etiquette workshops within their own company.
What exactly would my Train-the-Trainer Program consist of?
Our certification program offers full business training. You learn how to build your business from scratch, how to sell your services using tested marketing techniques, and how to work through the entire etiquette consultation process. We also give you templates for contracts, invoice and key business documents you'll need as the CEO of your brand new company! You also have access and guidance by e-mail or phone, free of charge, for up to 6 months after you finish.
How long will it take me to become a certified consultant?
Each subject requires at least three full days. If you have no previous experience as a speaker or teacher, we recommend you to take an extra day of training to become more familiar on being in front of an audience.
Will I have to take any exams to become certified?
Yes, we will ask you to take a written test and present a mini workshop to help us gauge your knowledge and performance as a brand new trainer. Upon completion of your assignments, you will receive a certificate awarding you the title of Etiquette Consultant.
What is the income potential for Etiquette Consultants?
It all depends on how much effort you are willing to put into the business in the beginning and how much of an entrepreneur spirit you have. It is possible to earn up to 6 figures after you gain sufficient experience.
Can I do this part time?
Yes, we have many consultants doing this part time for additional income and gradually building it into a full-time business.
Is this a good time to be in this business?
Yes, this is a great time to start this business. The corporate world has reverted to a more professional look, and people of all ages are looking for the competitive edge in their image and manners. Even businesses with a more relaxed dress code need guidelines as to what is appropriate.
Is your tuition tax deductible?
Yes, tuition and travel expenses are tax-deductible. All expenses of continuing education taken to maintain and improve professional skills are tax deductible according to Treasury Regulation 1.162-5 Coughlin vs. Commissioner, 203 F2d 307.
Who will be my instructor?
Elena Brouwer, Director of the International Etiquette Centre conducts the workshops and trainings, with occasional assistance from some of her other consultants. She has the knowledge, experience and professional expertise to teach the workshops or train-the-trainer programs for future consultants. Elena is committed to staying up-to-date on not only Western manners and protocol, but also on that of Asian, Middle Eastern and European cultures.
